Helping You Reach Your Potential with Psychological Evaluation and Testing
FAQs
1. Do you take insurance?
Cleveland Psychological Services is in-network with most Aetna plans but not with the NC State Health Plan. I may begin accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield in the coming months. Currently, all services are considered "out-of-network" with any plans other than Aetna and are self-pay only. Payment is due in full at the time of the service. Some insurance companies may offer partial coverage for psychological testing. You should review your policy and consult with your insurance carrier to understand your coverage options. An itemized bill of services will be provided after payment and can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement but I am unable to guarantee that the services will be reimbursed.
2. What is the cost of services?
The price for each evaluation is listed online under the "Services" tab. The price listed includes the initial meeting and clinical interview, testing listed for that particular type of evaluation, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and a feedback session where results and recommendations are discussed. Any other services (records requests, additional summaries, coordination of care, referrals, or subsequent appointments/meetings) will be billed at the rate of $165 per hour billed in one hour increments. You are entitled to have the fee for services provided to you in writing and verbally at least 24 hours before the appointment. Fees will be discussed with you during the initial consultation, as well, to ensure clear communication.

3. What forms of payment do you take?
I accept cash, checks, debit, Visa, MasterCard, and HSA payments.

4. Are you accepting new appointments for psychological testing?
Yes. I have availability for new clients for evaluation and testing. New appointments can typically be scheduled within two weeks of our initial contact (with some exceptions during the holiday season).

5. Are you accepting clients for therapy?
At this time, I am not accepting new clients for therapy. If this changes, I will note the addition of therapy under the "Services" tab.

6. What kind of appointments do you offer?
I offer in-person appointments for all psychological testing. In-person or virtual (telehealth) appointments are available for initial interviews with adults and testing feedback sessions. Children (below age 18) are seen in-person only and must be accompanied to the appointment by a parent or legal guardian who is authorized to give consent for the evaluation.

7. Is my information kept confidential?
I use an electronic scheduling program (IntakeQ) that complies with HIPAA standards, ensuring the security and confidentiality of your information. During telehealth appointments, I use doxy.me, which is a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. Paper records are scanned and kept electronically for seven years. Every effort is made to ensure that the scanned records are kept confidential. While special care is given to safeguard your privacy, please be aware that all communication that includes personally identifiable information should be conducted by voicemail or fax.

8. How do I schedule an appointment?
You may use the Contact Form under the "Contact" tab, send an email, or contact me by phone to discuss whether the psychological testing services I offer are appropriate for you and your family. I am happy to offer a free 15-minute consultation to help determine your assessment needs.

9. When can I contact you?
You can use the Contact Form online, call, or email at any time. Calls, emails, and messages are returned as quickly as possible, but only in-between appointments. While my office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, I am usually in appointments throughout the day and I do not schedule a lunch or midday break. Since I do not employ administrative staff, I sincerely appreciate your patience. Every effort is made to return messages within 24 hours, although messages are not received on Fridays or over the weekend. If a message is left after Thursday afternoon, I will respond the following Monday.

10. Is there any important information I need to know about working with you?
Please note that as a small private practice, your appointment time has been reserved especially for you or your family member. Please be 10-15 minutes early for your appointment to complete any paperwork not already completed and to sign necessary documents. If you arrive 10 minutes or more late for your scheduled appointment, the appointment will need to be rescheduled. Please do not bring food or drinks into the office. Do not bring additional family members with you unless we have discussed this ahead of time. Also, if I am meeting with your child for the appointment, please do not bring any additional children with you, since this time is set aside exclusively for your child and there is no one available to supervise other children. I look forward to giving you the time and attention you deserve without distractions or rushing through your meeting.

12. I have been scheduled with you for a CE (consultative examination) appointment by NC Disability Determination Services. Where can I get information about that type of appointment?
This is an excellent question. The information contained throughout this website generally refers to individuals who are interested in scheduling a private evaluation and appointments for Disability Determination Services differ some. For more information about a CE appointment you have been scheduled, click the link "Disability Determination Evaluation Info" located at the top of the page or click the button below to review important information you need for your appointment.
